Welcome to St Francis Class!

Welcome to our Reception Class - St Francis of Assisi

Teachers: Mrs Pettet and Mrs Steele

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Wilson-Storey

Learning Support Assistant: Miss Wilton

Our Class Saint is St. Francis of Assisi. He is one of the most popular saints. He is the patron of animals, merchants and ecology. His Feast Day is October 4th. He was the founder of the Franciscan Order.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

On Monday 4th October we celebrated St Francis Feast Day. We watched a video about St Francis, decorated and played with animals, used wooden blocks and Duplo to build churches and coloured in pictures of St Francis. A very busy and fun day!
