The Community of our school is a rich one because of the many cultural traditions brought and shared by our families, teachers, Governors and the associate staff. Though we come, directly or indirectly, from many parts of the world, we are united by our faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour of the world.
As clearly stated by the second Vatican Council:
“All human beings are endowed with a rational soul and are created in God’s image. They have the same nature and origin and, being redeemed by Christ, they enjoy the same divine call and destiny … all forms of social or cultural discrimination in basic personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, colour, social conditions, language or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God’s design.”
At Holy Cross, we fully agree with these fundamental beliefs and do our best to ensure that all children, regardless of gender, race or ability, have the opportunity to develop all aspects of their nature whether spiritual, academic, physical, social or emotional. Each child is encouraged to develop a positive self-image through the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum which seeks to foster an awareness and understanding of the social and cultural backgrounds of all children.
