Uniform

To help our children take a pride in belonging to Holy Cross School, we encourage all of them to wear school uniform. A uniform fosters a pride in the school and a sense of belonging. This in turn helps to develop a greater awareness of personal appearance and self-respect which is reflected in sound
attitudes, both social and academic.

Uniform can be purchased from 'Uniforms by Niki'.

When you order school uniform that you wish to collect from the school, please ensure you use your child’s official name as known by the school or your parental surname as known by the school; this is to avoid unnecessary confusion for the office. Thank you.

It is vital that all children wear proper uniform at all times. All children must be in summer uniform until October half term. Children must be wearing their jumpers and cardigans everyday when they arrive at school and leave to go home. Children also need a coat-preferably with a hood- in the inclement weather; fleeces/hoodies are not an acceptable alternative.

Nursery and Reception:

Light blue school plain / logo T shirt, school logo blue sweatshirt and navy blue or black jogging bottoms or jersey shorts with black trainers with velcro.

Hair:

Hair which is longer than chin length (boys or girls) must be tied back for ‘health and safety’ reasons.  Hair ‘ties’ or beads should be in school colours— blue or gold—or black or white.

No extreme styles please: shaved logos, motifs, or ‘tram lines’ are not acceptable.

Pupils should not wear hair gel or wax or dye their hair.  Hair extensions are only acceptable in the child’s natural hair colour.

Jewellery:

Jewellery must not be worn except small gold or silver studs for those with pierced ears, only one pair in the conventional place. Friendship/charity bands, ‘Saints’ bracelets are all included in the jewellery ban and must not be worn to school. Wrist watches may be worn at parent’s risk.  These must be removed for Physical Education sessions.
