Phonics - This week we will revise the 'a' grapheme that gives the /o/ sound.

Remember: The letters 'a' grapheme sometimes make /o/sound.  Below you will find a video that reminds you of some words that has the /o/  phoneme.  Can you remember where we will usually find this sounds? Is at the beginning, middle or end?

I have also attached the week's daily phonics activities.  There are four pages.  You need to complete one each day. Once you have watched the video, complete Day 1 activity.

Phonics - To revise the 'a' grapheme that gives the /o/ sound.

English - This week we will continue to look at our book: Meerkat Mail.

Please go through the explanation attached below. Today's paper based activity is also attached.

Guided Reading - Go through the explanations then answer the questions in your book.

Maths - To compare duration of time.

Remember:

We use the signs of inequality when we make comparisons.

What are the signs of inequality?

Yes, they are greater than, less than and equal to.

This is the greater than sign: >

This is the less than sign: <

This is the equal sign: =

Remember :

The clock face is divided into four equal parts.

Each part is one quarter.

Each quarter represents 15 minutes.

To find three quarters, First I find a quarter of 60.

I know that there are 15 minutes in quarter of an hour.

Next I find how many minutes is three groups of 15.

Three groups of 15 is equal to 45.

So there are 45 minutes in three quarter of an hour.

There are 60 minutes in one hour.

Half of 60 is 30 so there are 30 minutes in half hour.

There are 60 minutes in one hour and 30 minutes in half of an hour.  I know that 60 + 30 = 90 so there are 90 minutes in one and a half hours.

Use you clock face to show these times to your adult/brother/sister then complete the paper based activities.

Science - To name different plants

From today, we will return our attention to Plants.  Today, I would like you to collect as many plants as you can and tape them in your book.  I would then like you to name the different plants that you found.  For example, daisy, rose etc.

Please ensure that you have adult supervision.

Please send in photos of these.

When you are out and about collecting plants, did you notice any bees?  Why do they like flowers so much?
