Your learning objective today is to write a cautionary note for the daddy from our story Knuffle Bunny. You need to:
- understand what the word ‘cautionary’ means and write an explanation.
- think about what the problem is and what you need to tell the daddy.
- write a note to the daddy to tell him what is going to happen if he is not careful.
I hope you enjoyed listening to part of our story, Knuffle Bunny. Can you remember what cautionary means?
What did you think would happen while Trixie was playing with the clothes and her daddy was putting the clothes into the washing machine? What is the problem going to be? What do we need to tell Trixie’s daddy? Why do you think this is going to be a big problem?
I would like you to write a note to the daddy to tell him to be careful and watch what he is doing. You can then tell him why you are writing to tell him to be careful. What word could we use to give a reason for our writing? You need to think what a note is. It is a short letter. We need to write who the note is to and who the note is from. Remember to use capital letters at the start of your sentences and full stops at the end, as well as finger spaces in between each word.
I have written an example below of a note that I found asking a child to be good at Christmas.
You need to remember to stop shouting and being rude because
if you do not, Santa will not bring you any presents.
Have a lovely day everyone.
