Check out this weeks photo slideshow of all your work.

It would be really nice to hear from each of you, so please email us ( or write an letter and take a photo of it to email to us) and tell us what you have been up to during lockdown.

Dear Year 4

When I haven't been at school or setting you work, I have been enjoying the sunshine in my garden.  I have managed to plant potatoes, carrots and tomato's that have all started to grow.  I have read lots of books, played with my crazy cat and helped my son with all of his school work.  What have you been doing?

Mrs Westrop

English

For the next 2 weeks we are going to focus on our Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (GPS) and how we use this in our writing.  You will have some GPS tasks to complete and then a short writing task.  We are focusing on short writing, but we with the correct grammatical structures.

If you don’t know what the question is asking, use the grammar glossary below to help you.

Maths

Unfortunately, White Rose are charging people to use the daily lesson now, so we are using the White Rose work we would access in school.

Again, you do not need to print the worksheets, you can answer them in your books or on paper.

Today we are continuing with lines and angles but also looking at classifying different shapes, so use the new link below to explore more about different shapes to hep you first.

Music

Use the three empty bottles you have been collecting.  Fill each of them with different amounts of water.  Blow into the top to make a sound.  What different sounds can you make on each bottle?  Can you begin to make a tune?

Ask an adult to record you making your bottle music and send them in so we can put them on the website.

Can your parents make a better tune than you?  You can add more or less bottles if you have them.

Purple Mash

If you want to do any extra work, then you can use Purple Mash.  When you log into Purple Mash click on the weekly activities on the right hand side.  Then click on ages 7-9.  When you go into this folder, click on week 6

Then you can complete the activities for Thursday.

Stay home, stay safe!  Mrs Westrop & Mrs Renoldi King
