Good Morning Year 4 - we hope you have had a lovely weekend and  have a marvellous Monday!

We are going to be writing at length to get you ready for Year 5.  Your English lesson should take 1 hour each day. 

10 minutes to think and plan.

40 minutes to write.

10 minutes to edit and improve.

You need to remember to use your neatest, cursive handwriting.

Make sure you use a variety of punctuation - A . , ! ?

Use all your grammar knowledge and check your spelling.

Write in paragraphs - start a new paragraph when something new happens.

You should be working towards writing at least an A4 page by the end of your 40 minutes.

Guided Reading

Read the text and answer the questions in full sentences unless it tells you otherwise.  There are 2 texts with 4 questions each to answer. Each text and set of questions should take you no more than 10 minutes to complete.

As well as a topic lesson everyday, we thought it would be fun to try a little bit of Yoga each day to help us focus. 

Did you enjoy last weeks Yoga?  Can you remember all of the poses?

Give it a go and send in your pictures of you and your family doing the Yoga poses.

This half term we are looking at Habitats in Science as part of our animals and humans topic.  We want to make this topic very practical and get you out in the garden and looking for different habitats.


The first piece of work is to find out about Birds.  Read the information below and answer the questions.


Then you are going to go on a bird hunt. How many different birds can you see?  Complete the tables below.
